Light, and the particular nuances of lights interaction with surface, is of particular interest to me and my development of a visual language. Mechanical photographic reproductions of light do not directly represent the actual visual experience of light, rather the photograph with it’s intrinsic mechanical process provides a means to examine light and it’s abstracted beauty through representation in photographic terms.

Examining light and surface by means of the photographic process can provide clarity and abstraction in the same instance. With this series of photographs of a perspex cube the photographs serve as an examination of depth and visual complexity with an introspective analysis of the interaction of light and surface material. Immersive and explorative, the deconstructed image reforms in creation of pure light and colour and all form and surface gives way to this abstracted beauty.
